I know I said I was done...

I know I said I was done blogging but I wanted to share with the whole class this image from PostSecret that I shared with Christen. I think it's poignant.

And now I'm done.

That is so great I just made it my desktop background. Thanks for sharing that one Holly!

Holly, I have now reviewed all of your blog posts and I will leave an overall comment here. Then I will email a personalized rubric and your grade when I have finished all the blogs.

Holly, your blog has 16 posts, lots of photos and special features such as links to two Canadian artists, quotes, and your slide show: What art looks like to me. The theme you’ve chosen for the title has been carried through to the artist links…you might have carried it through to other posts, particularly your final one. Your blog theme could also have been “Where Creativity Flows”, as that was a powerful personal statement, too. Your blog has a balance of interest in visual and performing arts and is highly relevant to teaching. Your sensitivity to your colleagues and your commitment to collective learning comes through in your invitations to comment and in the post that you made in direct response to Casey’s request in the Talking Circle in class. Your Fashion Flair suggestion for the Potluck Performance really added to the festivities of the occasion and spirit of the group – I think it should become part of the tradition – and your contribution to clean up was also appreciated. The Halloween cupcakes were delightful and show , as did your Line Project Mural, that even simple things can be expressive. (Art is not only about realistic drawing!) There were many highlights in your contributions to our course, but two are the edible colour wheel lesson and of course, the Jim Henson presentation. Your Back Street Boys posts show that you will be picking up ideas about performing arts from all kinds of sources, and that you understand the meaning of music and memories for yourself and potentially for your students. Best wishes for more fruit to grow on your “creative branches”. Have a happy holiday and thanks for your generous contributions to the course.
