I am so proud of our cohort for putting together a fabulous art show in just one day.
I've been reading on other people's blogs all about their opinions of how it went and I can't agree more with my peers. It was a validating experience for the young artists and their families, that was evident. But I also think it was another important experience for our cohort as a group.
Our group tends to get so stressed out, and our workload has burnt many of us out. I think that hosting a positive event like the art show was fantastic and very timely. The way everyone can pull it together is a testament to the character of this group. I truly appreciated everyone's positive energy on Tuesday night.
Thank you to Trevor and Shayla for helping me get the enormous tarp up on the wall, looking like a true piece of art. Thank you to Linda Cutler for taking the above photo of my bestest buds. Thank you to Judy, Faye, and Sarah W. for keeping everyone happy and full of cake :) Thank you to Keith and Rob for being such friendly ushers, and to Sarah and Carly for providing direction. Jenna (and helper? Sorry!) for a welcome sign! Linda for keeping the elevator captive from breaking down. Meg for beautiful balloons! Marissa, Mike, Christine and other cleaner-uppers for their contribution when everyone was exhausted. To Kristen and Trev for cleaning at the start, and to Sara for agreeing, despite her fears, to stand on the second floor - blow a whistle - and co-deliver a fantastic speech :) It was truly a team effort... and if I didn't mention your name I appreciate you just the same.... I'm just tired :)
Thank you most of all to Willow, the Educ program, and the UNBC Arts Council for providing us this wonderful opportunity to showcase our young artists!
