Attention to detail, patience.
When I worked this summer at Two Rivers Gallery, the Jerome Fortin exhibit opened in the main gallery on my birthday - May 23rd.
Jerome is an artist from Montreal who uses recycled pieces as material and inspiration.
The work at left "Untitled (Ecrans Series)" Collage, 2007 is constructed of meticulously folded pieces of all kinds of paper. Look closely to see if you can identify some of his materials.
When he gave his Artist's Talk, Jerome said that to him, sitting and folding is a time for solitude and self-reflection. Something that others might find boring or tedious, he gets lost in for hours and hours.
